Introduction
The CAE CAD research laboratory was founded in 1994 under the support of the Kyungpook National University.
Our research work is focused on understanding and modeling material response. Main areas of our research include formability studies of automotive sheet materials, FEM simulations of forming process, micro/nano mechanics for micro/nano scale material behaviors(dislocation dynamic, crystal plasticity, molecular dynamic), damage mechanics and voids plasticity for designing safe industrial structure.
The aim of our research is to provide solutions and design-driven approach to the development of new material processing and manufacturing technologies and the subsequent use of computational material engineering.
The research team has established its international reputation and had active research collaboration with over 15 institutions Worldwide.
